Generations Hall is a fantastic 36,000 square foot multi-use venue in the Warehouse District of New Orleans. Our facility is conveniently located one block from the Convention Center and one mile from the French Quarter! Originally built in the early 1820′s as a sugar refinery and decorated with with artwork by prominent artists George Schmidt and Xavier deCallatay, depicting the history of New Orleans jazz, Generations Hall offers a glimpse into a bygone era.
With three spacious rooms that can be rented either separately or as a whole, Generations Hall can accommodate any group, large or small. Our three primary spaces are: The Metropolitan One, The Metropolitan Two, and The Big Room. Complete with seven high volume service bars and three full sets of restrooms the facility is perfect for private functions, banquets, concerts, luncheons, weddings, trade shows, and convention meetings of any size. From 50 to 5,000, Generations Hall provides a unique New Orleans atmosphere for any event.
Generations Hall is an open catering facility, so feel free to bring in the caterer of your choice! Don’t know a caterer? No problem, Generations Hall provides turnkey packages for all events regardless of size. All packages include tax and tip and come completely staffed inclusive of management, security, bartenders, bar backs, floor persons (porters), and sound technician. If your event requires special staffing needs please make this clear with our sales associate, we will be happy to accommodate your needs.
Open/sponsored bar, cash bar, or a combination of the two…Generations Hall offers numerous beverage packages that can accommodate all budgets. If your event requires that extra something special, please ask our sales associate because we would be happy to bring in your favorite spirit, wine, or beer!
Our facility is complete with state of the art audio and video technology throughout the facility. As stated above, each event is staffed with one of our professional house technician to make sure that with each event you are able to take full advantage of the capabilities of Generations Hall. From Big Band to Disco, from Cocktail Jazz to Top 40 and Pop, Generations Hall can provide sound and lighting for an event that will exceed your expectations.

Metropolitan One

The Metropolitan 1 room is the flagship of Generations Hall. One of the cities best audio / visual systems accompanies this room and adds six 42 inch, two 47 inch, two 50 inch plasma TV's, and a 6 foot projection screen surround the room so that all guests can dance the night away or get a view of the big game. A sprawling balcony system, called the Mezzanine, is the perfect VIP getaway and comes equipped with its own bar and set of restrooms. With 45 foot vaulted ceilings, two high volume bars capable of holding 8 bartenders, two separate sets of restrooms, state of the art sound, LED and high end dance floor lighting, and over 12,500 square feet of usable space, The Metropolitan 1 is by far New Orleans' most premier party room.

Metropolitan Two

The Metropolitan 2 room at Generations Hall falls in between The Metropolitan 1 and Big Room on the floor plan. While this room is the perfect addition for that event that needs a bit of extra space, this room packs a big punch with regard to ambiance, audio / visual system, and functionality. This warehouse style gem definitely stands alone and is the perfect room for a smaller reception. Open 35 foot, vaulted ceilings, second floor balcony, two bars, access to two sets of restrooms, three flown 6 foot projection screens, and a 47 inch plasma TV make The Metropolitan 2 one of the favorite rooms of party planners and guests alike.

The Big Room

The Big Room at Generations Hall is one of the most versatile staged rooms and best places in New Orleans to watch live music. This historic room has hosted artists such as Ray Charles, ZZ Top, John Cougar Mellencamp, The Blue Man Group, Irma Thomas, Alan Toussaint, and Jimmy Buffet just to name a few! 35 foot vaulted ceilings, a large stage, three fully functioning green rooms with private restrooms, ample power for any size production, three bars, four 50 inch plasma TV's, and one six foot projection screen are just a few of the extras that The Big Room has to offer.
